Exercise 4: Policy Server Failover

• Reconfigure the trusted host’s configuration object for load balancing mode:
  • Set EnableFailOver to NO
• Wait for cache to flush after saving the configuration changes
• Ensure the profiler is enabled for both policy servers
• Restart your web servers so that the trusted hosts receive their new load balancing configuration
• Test the new load balancing configuration:
  • NOTE: This test should be performed by one partner at a time. It is vital that both partners’ policy server profiler is enabled.
  • Open a browser and access a protected resource
  • Use the profiler log to verify that the trusted host’s requests are being distributed between the policy servers. These requests include:
    • is Protected
    • is Authenticated
    • is Authorized
